Spicy Kilishi / Beef jerky
Kilichi is a nutrient-rich product made from strips of beef jerky grilled with a spicy paste. According to food experts, the composition contains high levels of PH (5.5 to 6.1), protein (50% to 70%), lipids (15% to 20%), iron (35%), salt (35%), and water (7 to 20%).
Both the hot and non-hot varieties of Kilichi can be used for snacking or as a topping for salads while retaining its essential nutrients, as it's prepared from thin slices of meat (rib eye and lamb) earlier coated in a sauce and dried in the sun. This sauce is composed of spices and peanut paste, which, once dried, allows the meat to be preserved for up to 6 months without greasiness.
